Metal or Plastic ?

I've been using plastic bar ends ever since i started riding but eventually they end up getting destroyed and then I have to buy new bar ends.

For those of you guys that run metal bar ends do they work well ? I have a feeling that if I get metal bar ends the ends of the bars would get ruined and it's going to cut my hands.

Naa they wont cut your hands, and if they do get sharp just get a file and shave the sharp part down.....and get ANIMAL barends, thous are the best!!

If you are prepared to take a metal bar end to the chest from a 4 foot bail then go for it.
I've had bad luck with them but i've manned up.

Yea they help balance out your tailwhips...and usually help out your manuals.

i have kink 1 pc barends.. their really light and do a good job protecting my hands and chest from getting cut up... and they dont really get sharp at all either

I've heard a lot of stupid things on this site, and this might be at the top. Say that bar ends are stupid when your bars get munched at the end and you get a nice cookie cutter when you wreck.

The question should be plastic or metal, not bar ends or not. I like metal bar ends cause they last longer and are more solid (usually). I've never really had problems with sharp bar ends, but like someone said, just file them. I wouldn't fire on Animal ones though, I've heard bad things.

Either Animal metal barends or Animal plastic plug barends are great.

you really cant go wrong with barends lol.... they all get the job done just fine... but plastic ones fall out

not sure which plastic ones you are using, the ones that came with odi's fit snug and don't move at all

Im scared to try bar catches without barends, my bars are all snaggy and hurty and my grips dont go over them cause they suck too

the snafu's look nice. umm i have animals on my bike now they suck(plastic) get chewed up quick. best barends i have EVER had were superstar threaded. sooo sick.
