bars with slitss

so i have an old pair of buffs that have a slit in them already, i want to run a threadless fork with a proto scs would this work?

Yes, it can work, but i wouldnt. SCS is made for slitless for maximum strength.
SCS raises your bars 2 inches anyway, so just cut off 2 inches (along with the slits) and you should be set.
