crap quality slr? a d40 is the cheapest slr you can buy, and it isnt crap quality.. i dont know exactly what you meant by that. and you went even farther and got a d80 which is completely and totally unnessecary. and what is this "fast-shutter speed" you speak of? do you mean shutter lag? because a p&s has shutter lag, but there are also p&s's out there that perform virtually identical to an slr, except the lens changing. you are never gonna switch out the lens so i dont know why you need one. so no, you do not need an slr when first starting out, and yes, your whole argument is invalid.

i actually think the second flip is pretty good. i like the composition and the framing of like the lamp post and the trees and the edge of the other ramp lol.
