best and cheapest ways to widen bars

So me and Justin Vogelsburger were about to go to home depot to buy pipe to widen my bars. As we were about to leave we saw a old par of broken stock pro bars on my floor. The steer tube was off and it was just the the top of the T. Idk if this has been done and im sure it probly has. but we decided to the take the removable parts off and slip the big part over my bars. then we bolted the removable part back on. we had an extra pair of stock bars so hack sawed the steer tube off and did the same on the other side.

after re-reading it im pretty sure i know exactly whats going on...the cut off the top of stock bars where the removable bar sides go in, took one out then bolted it to the end of his bars
