Best way to clean a headset?

I have a FSA pig and its dirty as hell. do i go about cleaning it that same way you clean bearings? i have mineral spirits that i can use

take the bearings out and stick them in mineral spirits for 5 or 6 hours. and wipe the grease off your bearing cups using a paper towel.

After you take the bearings out of the mineral spirits, let them dry then pack them with grease (not sure what kind) and reasemble your headset

i just wipe down the bearings with a rag and regrease them

take out the rubber seal and let them sit in rubbing alcohol for about 5 min then set them on a paper towel until they dry
then re grease them

I also just whipe it down but, I use bones speed cream on the bearings
