Why do you even need a quad clamp? Unless your slit is abnormally tall, then I see no point in having one.

Well, I could be wrong, but when you use a quad clamp, since it's higher then your slit it protects your bars from snapping at the slits, unless you pull so hard it snaps the bars and the clamp.

My half knuckle goes above my slits. The only time my bars ever cracked was when my clamp wasn't fully on the bars, and covering the slits. So I suggest a half knuckle.
