^For those of which do not know that is a bmx fork.

Right now this may seem like a poinless thread but please dont lock it straight away.
Currently a friend and I are looking into making BMX style forks for scooters, on the idea that they are stronger and would be better than stock razor forks. We know people break forks alot and would be a decent demand for them. I am wondering would you buy one of these or for some obsurd reason not want to (Please state if not). I think its a good idea and would be strong enough to withstand a good pounding they would probably be made out of 4310 Chromloy steel any suggestions would be great.

Cheers {-) !heart

That has been in my mind already.

One idea as to cut the bmx fork shorter, drill some holes and put a long bolt with spacers on it. The problem is: the bolt may bend because fork is too wide for such a bolt like 8mm diameter.

Second idea (which will be done soon) is to cut off the fork and only have the thick threadless fork tube. Find 3 steel plates with exact measures (depends how long fork do you want) and weld them together. It's almost impossible to bend a 3mm steel sheet even with a machine, but weld them together not like upside down U-profile, but TT-profile, then the plates on the side can be welded on both top side endings. Drill some holes and your fork will be ready.

Yeah I know what you mean, at least I think I do haha, But im not sure if that will be very strong? Wont the part on the top bend/break super easy? Im not too sure if im geting your idea right but if its they way I think it is im pretty sure that will break...

That's the whole point in using the bmx one, it's much stronger than the stock Razor ones.

It was kind of funny, I started reading it then when I got to that line I kept reading it over and over again until I realized that I wasnt going anywhere and that I was just reading the same line repeatadly.

You can always give it a go. I would not buy it because I usually don't have any problems with my forks in the bottom area and I don't think I will break anymore forktubes with the way my bar is set up. A Bmx style fork would need a custom headtube with a llonger neck though, cause welding the pipes needs a longer piece of the of the forktube to stick out under the headset. However, I think that copying the design of a bike fork might not be a proper way of making a good one for scooters. The scooter wheel is 3,5 times smaller than the smallest bike wheel I can think of, so if we were to make a scaled down version it might occur to be weak. But I might be wrong...

the fork idea sounds really good if you can make it and i would definatly buy it at long as it is like $40 or less area and also a great place to buy material here

Can u imagian how fucking hard it would be to minus the the origonal size of a bmx fork to be like 15times smaller to fit on scoots..

Not fucking easy!
Dimensions would be waaaaay hard!

idk if this would be such a great idea, like knowped forks are bmx style but they would bend forward or back a lot easier than razor forks since razor forks are like flatter, it would be extremely hard to break or bend it like to the front or back. id say just make the little metal parts a little thicker and maybe weld a little plate at the top

It'd be even cooler if you made the forks....then posted about them. but ohwell lol. And i dont think i would buy any forks, welding a metal pipe in them works just fine..
