brake pin question

I've been trying to hammer out my brake pin with a hammer and i guess a kind of pointy chisel thing and the pin isn't budging at all, it's just denting, no matter what I do.. Am I doing something wrong? I s there some kind of special way of doing it or what?

It only comes out one way. One side of the pin is round and the other side has like a star pattern... only hit the round side.

that's the side i hit it from and it just dented. I also tried the other side as well but that of course doesn't work. I'll try again and see what happens lol...

edit: nothing happened, it doesn't work. I might just cut it off and then replace it with a bolt later on.. Thanks for the help though!

Whoa. LMAO. Not laughing at you. Don't use a metal hammer and hammer the bolt. You are supposed to hammer the side with threads. If you hammer the threads with a metal hammer , there are some chances that you will ruin the threads and make the nut not go in. Thats if you are quite unlucky though.

He is talking about a brake PIN not a brake BOLT... like on old A models not the new brakes on Bs, New As and Pros.

it took me a while to get mine off but i managed so im guessing you could prolly get it out
do you ride an old a or a pro? Because the pro has a bolt instead of a pin so it should technically be easier to get off..

And mine won't move a single millimeter, it just dents when I hit it, so I'm just gonna cut it and if it still doesn't come out I'll drill it. Plus I'm gonna put a bolt through anyways because I'm gonna reinforce my deck and rear forks soon anyways..

A mod can lock this if they want btw...

haha i had the same problem like 2 days ago. no joke. i just drilled it out and bolted it. i was gettin really mad with that damn thing!!
