Take the entire folding mechanism apart and bolt it solid.

i was just doing a simple whip on my friends old scooter and it broke.
a spring type thing come out of it around the folding mechanism..now it folds down on its own..like it just falls down you have to push it hard to hold it half straight..i tried but i cant get it in..any ideas?

he gave me the scooter,too
