Hi all

My son is 12 and has rally got into this sport (along with BMX), am trying to surprise him with a really decent new scooter, so far i have been advised MGP team edition, MGP Nitro and Grit Mayhem. Would be really grateful if you could offer some advice, so I can order it asap

Thanks everyone

The Nitro will be very heavy if he is only 12. And the team edition makes you look really bad if you are a little kid. What does he have now?

If he is on an Razor right now, i recommend a District v2 deck or a Phoenix standard.

Okay,
Some good Begining scooters would be:
Razor Ultra pro,
Madd gear Team Edition (MGP)
Razor Pro Model, with some aftermarket parts.
those are the big 3, that i think of. there all, under $150 (USD)

Razor Ultra Pro, once he gets more advanced he can upgrade to a custom and slowly buy/get aftermarket parts

shut up nick, you're fourteen.

Go with a ultra pro black label, or a bolted pro model woth different bars and stuff.
Do they havd fuzions there? if so, get one of those.

It depends what you want. You could buy a pre-made scooter, or buy all the parts yourself.

If fuzions are released soon, get one of those. If not, I'd recommend an Ultra Pro or find a website that sells District completes. They're really light, and for their weight, they're strong, as well. I'm not sure if this site ships to the UK, and a few people have had some trouble contacting customer support, but they're the first thing that came to mind when I looked for a District complete. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but it'll last quite a while unless your son is out there doing really big/difficult tricks and landing hard. http://www.shop.kotascooter.com/product.sc?productId=60

DO NOT BUY FROM KOTA SPORTS IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE WHAT YOU ORDERED

They are probably the worst retailer in the world (scooterwise)
