adults can't her it because their ears are worn more than kids ears and not as sensitive to high pitched sounds.
the sound is sometimes used to deter children and teenagers from places. it is played really loud through speakers it is commonly used in skate spots, strip clubs and sex toy shops or places where kids do drugs and anywhere else where kids shouldn't be. it deters kids but not adults. adults simply cant hear it

I cant really imagine kids going "Owch that hurt my ears... Im never doing drugs ever again" haha. I doubt they do it over here but I dont know lol. Im pretty sure if adults were carefull with their ears they could still hear it.

no no i doesn't stop kids from doing drugs and it doesn't hurt there ears it just repels them form places to a certain extent. it is annoying in the link at the top but imagine it being played really loud constantly

yea i know wat you mean.. and i think that some councils would do that to deter kids and teenagers from certain places...
but it is true that when ur born you have the best quality hearing of your life, amd as time goes on your ears wear out.. i think it is the hairs in your ear that signal to the brain what type of sound it is but i could be completely wrong and i wouldnt bet money on it lol
