3 Run Comp:

1st Run:

Go easy, nothing big. Try to build up confidence. Don't get nervous if you mess up or if somebody does a better run than you.

2nd Run:

Try to do a few bangers. If you mess up, stop and do some tricks your more comfortable with.

3rd Run:

GO BIG!

- unless you really really know the park well, DONT PLAN YOUR LINES/RUNS
- practice as much as you can beforehand, but dont tire yourself out.
- generally its better to have a clean, solid run than to keep bailing on a single harder trick over and over. try to stick to things you have a good chance of landing. unless its best trick of course.

Even though you don't have to plan your run out exactly, know some things you wanna do at the park so you don't just ride around thinking of things to do. Or just do tricks people yell at you.

CAUTION! If the comp is in Czech Republic this doesn't work.

For me the strategy is: First a big consistant trick, then filler tricks, then at the end try your biggest trick.

i've never been to a comp before, but if it was like a 3 run deal i would:

1. safety run. do the tricks i know i can do consistantly first try. if i'm feeling it at the end, something big.

2. all or nothing. once you have a safety run you can go all out. and if you mess up, no worries, you have run #3.

3. pretty much same thing as run 2, except you have to land everything.

more or less though, i'd just do the tricks i know i can do. i hate watching comp runs and alls it is is kids messing up every other trick.

I say go with tricks you know you can always land and then towards the end of the run go big and hope for the best

I got myself banned.
Take 2 safety runs, only do trick you can land, save the hammers for you last trick. 3rd run do whatever the hell you want. Take an adderall and drink lots of energy drinks too

lines, lines, lines.

consistency is key, fuck everything else, you're gonna fuck yourself over hella bad if you keep trying a big trick that you only have a small chance of landing over and over again.

However, IMO, comps are not about how well you do, it's about having fun.
