Compression idea.

instead of a starnut. im thinking about a wedge. there usually on littke kids bikes the compress stem to fork.

it would just be hard to find a bolt that would be long enough

it would probably be less of a hassle than a starnut, but the only problem is that you would have to fiddle with it for a while to get it in exactly the right position, because when you turn the bolt, the thing expands in your steertube, and it only goes a certain distance before it can't expand anymore, and if you hit that point before your headset is fully compressed, then you have to keep readjusting it until you get it right..
