Hi guys.

I just disambled my Cane Creek S-8 for a grease/check up/maintenance, and when i had t get the compression ring out, i had to use a flat head screw driver, the thing is, when i did it, i put a little bit of a dent in it sorta thing.

Its where the slit is in it and i am worried that i have damamged it.

Have i? Thanks.

Its not bent, when i used the screwdriver on it, it dented into it and made a tiny bit of metal stick up.

you're very fickle about your parts.. just ride it and see if it feels any different?

Nah, its the compression ring. I was trying to remove it to take my headset about and i made a little bit of metal stick up.

Rode it all day today and was fine though, so there no problem. Thanks guys!

You mean the pinch ring? It should be fine. Next time hammer the top of the fork tube so that the pinch ring moves up the fork tube a little (it will still be compressing the top race) then push up from the bottom of your fork. This should release the pinch ring

can some one pm me where to buy a compression ring because i bought one off the kid and either he didnt send it or this one is too big..?
