Compression System Help

Is there any way I could make my own compression system by buying a 1 1/8 star nut and getting a really long bolt? And if so, could someone explain how the hell a compression system works, and where to put the starnut, 'cause I'm getting a threadless Zero Grav fork and there is no way I'm getting their compression system where I have to drill my bars

You hammer the star nut into the bars, in far enough that your bars can slide onto your forks, but not much farther. And then, you put on your bars, put the bolt through the bottom of the forks, and screw it into the starnut until your headset is perfect. Then tighten your bars.

well what it does is it takes the bars and clamps them on to the fork so ur headset doesnt move and so its slolid
where are you going to get the starnut?

I'm pretty sure you need a 1 1/4 starnut.

agreed, so i need a 1 1/4 or a 1 1/8. I ride one pieces with regular tubing dimensions. My fork's coming soon and I just need an answer. And, when I put the bolt in the starnut, do I put a washer on the bolt, so that the bolt doesn't go into the Fork. I'm saying is that, Do I need a washer on the bolt where the black cap was.

Just get a fine threaded 1/4" bolt from home depot, like a really long one, and cut it down to size and weld a nut on the top. Get a 1 1/4" starnut.

if you already bought it then I cant help you. If your getting .120 thickness i know you say you want threadless but if you have .120 just get threadless.

if you already bought it then I cant help you. If your getting .120 thickness i know you say you want threadless but if you have .120 just get threadless.

im pretty sure inward scooters sells their own compression systems, its basicly the same idea as with a starnut but you drill through the bars and the bolt goes to the drilled through the bars about 3 inches? above the fork, just get that and ull be fine

tbh i dont no hardly any sizes of anything on my scooter, i just take it with me to a hardware store, find the right part, and buy it

then, buy a FINE threaded rod like ian said, and cut it to about 8 1/2" inches long. then, take 2 nuts that are kinda thin and lock thme against each other as tight as you can at one end (like a stock headset). put loctite in the nuts as well. make sure you bring the starnut with you when you get the rod, so you dont buy the wrong size. just find one that fits.
