I own SR.
We need to set some standards here because the fact that both of them were blown out in advance on IS is pretty beat. I'm down for IS but this cannot continue to happen. Suggestions?

THANK YOU. I've been telling this to Jordan, but he doesn't seem to care. Nothing against Jordan, but I definetly agree. For one, you need to ask permission. You uploaded my video (the one of Jon), without asking, which is a HUGE no,no. And, it's dumb to see clips in potw/cotw that are already released.

- uploaded on public server if Dibbs doesn't want to mess with attachments.

Clips:
- password protected
- unreleased
- vimeo/youtube

phtotos - i won't know whether or not a photo has been published before to DQ them, i dont check the photo threads that often.

videos - too many people wouldn't un-password protect their videos if they won, and we'd be stuck waiting for them to notice or worse just forget about it.

again, i wont know if a video has been released or not to DQ it

Andrew, you even said yourself that I should start posting videos from the more advanced riders, and thats what I was doing there.

Conor, if you didn't want people to see it, then make it private? As soon as you upload it publicly then anyone can see it. I'm sure a lot of people did see it, me posting on IS was just a way for more people to see it sooner.


If it really bothers you guys this much, I think I can post the pictures after POTW is selected. But I'm not going to stop posting good videos just because it might spoil COTW. And if you don't want me to post a clip, make it private. Once you put something on the internet publicly anyone can see it, and do what they want with it.

edit: its not letting me post everything i have to say. its coming up with internal server error...bah.

Well lets work something out. Overall it is up to the rider in the video, or in the photo on where his video or photo shows up. However, I agree with the fact that the Photos can go up AFTER POTW is chosen for that week. Usually there are some close runner ups, and IS can post those along with the winner. AFTER it is already been chosen and posted on SR.

As for the clips, I think it might need to be the same way. SR was doing POTW, and COTW before we started tossing up pics. So lets just try and work something out. So no more conflicts start up.

I'll start to send my choices for IS photos through AFTER dibbs puts up the winner.
I don't really look at potw/cotw thread in here anymore; i like waiting to see who wins rather than look before.
but IS should definately be after, rather than before pics/clips are posted.

NO. Do you seriously think that? It's MY video, you CANNOT do whatever you want with it. You MUST ask permission when putting videos on your website.

Simple as that.

It's not like password protected you know. They COULD post it where ever they like unless they will get profit off it or make fun of it. And they CANNOT use the same footage in a new separate video. Otherwise it's public until you have put a password on it. And if you don't like that it's being posted on another site, you can always ask to remove it, but when nobody earns any literal profit off YOUR video without asking you, it's fine in my eye, as long as they give the credit to you.

They are making profit on it, that's the thing.

Im not gonna go into alot of detail about this but here

If someone uploads your video onto their youtube account that you put online publicly, you can't do shit except bitchh and hate the person.

If someone takes your video, uses it without permission, and sell it, you can do something about it, but there really isn't a point if its just online. If they put you in a DVD its worth taking further.

Lastly, if you film another rider, use them in your DVD, and sell it and that person hasn't signed a release, some shit can go down!!! I have no written releases from any of the riders in the TPC dvd, they could take me to court, but they were letting me film them willingly so yeah...
