what is this craze about everybody having a crew now. its like everybody is trying to emulate venture, friendly, kids crew,etc... i don't get it

Most people that have crews are crazy good, so whats the problem with it? They're putting out kickass videos, like Peachy. I'd make a crew, but I can't think of any cool names hah

Crews are really important for your local scene. In 2006 all we had were crews. You ride together, film together, party together, hang together and maybe release a video of it all so you have something tangible to show for it. Thats how you turn this hobby into a lifestyle.

There should be no negative feelings towards people having crews, fuck "sponsors" man, life is much better with your friends.

Dude, you can't hate on crews. That's our history, that was all we had for the first 7-8 years of the sport. Sometimes you may have some issues with your sponsor... but you never have any problems with your homies, am I right?
Nobody is copying Venture, Friendly, HooTigh, etc. (well, I hope so). It may seem so, but maybe that's because it is actually natural to ride with a group of people who are sharing your views on life, outlook on riding... and filming equipment. It's been like that since the beginning. Now go and re-watch some BLT, TPC and Baboons' videos to make sure I'm telling the truth :)
