Custom Bar Extenders

Aren't these just copper pipe fittings? Like to go from a smaller to larger pipe size? I could get like 10 of these at Lowe's for a buck. They won't last long at all if you're not using barends, either, cuz they're copper. It'll just dent and bend and get ruined and possibly stuck in your bars.

Go buy them at lowes. See how much luck you have

I'm just saying, you haven't posted anything about how you actually machined them or what they're made out of. All you've said is "metal" and that you machined them, nothing more specific than that. I'm skeptical, but go ahead, give me details and prove me wrong.

It's silly to make them expensively. I've had the same pair of extenders in for 3 months, and have had no problems. I have about 7 bucks into them, and I machined an integrated bar end into them as well. Idk, metal isn't always the best solution. Just my two cents.

If I were to use these I would at least put superglue on the part that goes inside the bar... But still, this is a great idea and you should try to get a company to mass produce them.
Talk to someone at Vertx or Proto, out of any companies I think those two would be most likely to do it.

Why don't you make a little ridge in them (the bit that goes in the bars) and put a rubber ring in to hold it in like with sink plugs and stuff like that.

if you are going to talk to companies about it you might want to get a patient on them

and i dont think he will need one because this design doesnt seem to be the best. there is really nothing holding it in. it could just fall out if you drop your bars

I don't think you guys understand. The outside diameter of the extention is bigger than the inside diameter of the bar. The only way to get it in is to hammer it, and it stays in because its jammed in there. Also makes it hard to take out, but at least you can take it out, with a bit of strength.

legit! i hope you make it thicker as it goes up so you hammer it in HARD it never comes out, and make the barend bit itself out of steel so it lasts, then i'd buy some.
