Cutting Bars?

i have Stock Teamedition bars i wanted to cut them there pretty tall
is there any particular way to do it..
i was gonna do it with a grinder..?Any particular machine i should use??

sure if you want to fuck up alot of blades...use a sawzall with a metal cutting tip on it and your set.

i always trace out a clean cut, i use a clamp to get a level surface, and just trace the bottom of it to where i want the cut, then i use a hacksaw, cut on part till i hit inside, then turn and repeat. do that till its done and it will be a nice clean cut, if you dont care much abotu quality, but cut it at your measurement from the middle of the crossbar down and try to stay vertical.

haha i know. but cutting bars is kinda obvious. i have a hacksaw that works fine

1. put the bars in a vice
2. put a clamp on it tight where you want it cut
3. get a hacksaw and place it next to the edge of the clamp and just saw and its nice and clean

and fuk rottweiler scoots u try and cut bars with scissors i bet u would fail big time :\

how do you put the slit in bars

You drill a hole however high you want the slit, then cut to the hole with a hacksaw.

why do you need the slit so the bar flexes? sry im n00b

No You need a slit so the bar has room to clamp on to the fork tube. so when you tighten your clamp up you will find the gap in the slit is not there any more.
