okay so i am confused, i had my HIC working fine the other day. I took my forks and bars off to paint them and when i went to put it back together it is completely fucked up. first off the shim seems to go straight through the berrings and little plastic circle cover and eventually gets further down than my forks. did i lose a peice? what is supposed to stop the shim? so i went and found some little ring that fits tightly onto the forks and i put that on and it stops the shim. well now i have the problem that i tighten the hell out of my HIC and by the time i get to the bottom of the driveway it is loose as hell again! HELP ME

wow umm ... umm ok depending on the headset, u shud have around 6 or 7 parts the top cap, compression ring, top and bottom bearings, top and bottom cups, and the crown race. i have an origin 8 so the top cap and the compression ring are 1 piece but idk about others. do u have those parts? if ur missing 1, find it and ull be fine. if not, u really screwed up somehow
