you should stay threaded but if you really dont want to then scs. and for a fork, DEFINITELY recommend a TSI Thom Cat. Light, strong, and from one of the most legit companies out there.

no you do not have to use an aftermarket headset when you go threadless. im running a stock headset on my threadless sr fork. all you need is another bearing race and a compression ring. bike shops usually can give you those for free
