ok. to permanently fix the ring of death on an xbox just overheat it. my dads got one at his work and i got one at my house and its worked on both my pro and his elite.
just wrap it in like towels. (preferably something non-flammable) and turn it on and leave it there for like an hour until it powers off then restart it and it should work fine.

rap 2 towels around the xbox and then turn the xbox on unplug the the cable that connects to the Tv and turn it on and keep it on for like 1-2 hours, then after that it basically made the xbox fix every thing inside i dont know how but it works BTW this should be in the game section
