what about people who have been declared dead but somehow come back? they were dead, they know exactly what it feels like.

unless that being declared dead only refers to the lack of a heartbeat, their minds could still be conscious...but i thought you needed blood flow for your mind to work?

well, as far as we know, which we don't, thats just the most logical answer. anyone who claims to know what happens after death is delusional. ill deal with it when i get there, but chances are there will be nothing to deal with

which is why instead of thinking about it making myself all depressed, or holding on to some fairy tale because of some irrational fear, i just don't think about it anymore. right now you're alive which is all that matters. just keep it that way for as long as you can.

I have watched so many stories on the show "beyond and back" or whatever it is called. Every single one of them describes either hell or heaven.

the preminision of death is what drives humans to do things, if we lived for thousands of years, well, we could just do it tomorrow, or the next day, there are so many things to do in the world; but we must decide what to do, i know i could live for quite a few hundred years, but some people need to have an end in sight, or they will loose sight of the end.

no one knows, not you, not santa, not chuck norris.. no one. and it will NEVER be known to living humans. thats a harsh fact of life but we gotta accept it.
the default for what happens is non existence, and although theres no evidence for or against it, that is the most plausible explanation because it's the default explanation.

Yup, that is where faith comes into play. Some more than others, I guess.

But I guess we could all agree that we don't know where we will end up after we die, whether heaven or hell or just cease to exist. I believe in faith though, that we will live forever, in heaven or hell. Just comes down to a matter of choice.

Anthony, do you think we have a soul? Or is it just our mind? Are they the same thing?

Theres no evidence that supports the existence of a soul, and therefore i don't believe there is one at this time.

Im not a faithful person, at all. If theres no evidence, then theres no reason to believe it. Id rather live with the fact that i have no idea rather than lie to myself to try and feel better about the inevitable.

Everyone has some amount of faith in their life. No doubt. If you deny this, then I don't know what to tell you. Are Atheists are just push overs to science, when ever there is a new discovery, then change your facts?

So, in your mind, it is pointless to try and discover where we came from and where we are going.

So the Big Bang theory is just dumb in your opinion?
