Does anyone here debate officially through their school or college? I'm just curious.

Had a tournament that lasted 17 hours last Saturday, results:


Impromptu Speaking - 1st
Original Oration -4th
Persuasive Extemporaneous - 3rd
Soap Box Speaking - 4th
Group Improv - 5th

i debate my 3rd period teacher about politics -she's a democrat, but other than that no. my mom wanted me to do debate but i didn't have the time

I absolutely HATE the debating coach at our school, she's pretty much crazy. And most of the kids on the debating team suck anyway, so yeah, fuck that. I guess I debate more un-officially than officially due to the previously listed factors..

that sucks man, our coach is pretty good, she's such an awesome person just not the absolute best at teaching. i just want to pursue it all through high school and hopefully get a decent scholarship off of it.

i love to argue/debate. i debate with my one friend and this teacher about stuff all the time.

my school does them but i never bother participating.

It happens all the time in religous studies since our teacher has made us take a gcse in the subject, everyone argues with her one how religion isnt real and how stupid it is.

i punched the anger management consuler in the face then spit on him because he wouldnt let me eat during group discussion. oh well anger management isnt for me =]
