Don't think too much about it. Just be confident that you can do it.

Right before you try it, picture it in your head doing it perfect.

chad ya i usually only go for a week break because i miss it. an then i just try flowy/boosty shit like different stuff than what i would usually do at the parkand its fun.i also watch tons of vids just to get inspired again. and even though i cant hit rails i have advice for you; just do what ur trying to do but do it one foot to get the feel of it and go through what you would do if you were to fuck up and then just go for it an commit. that way if you get it you get it and if you mess up you know how to fall/bail properly so you dont get hurt.

Going big is about building up. Master your tricks on the little stuff and slowly start getting better at the bigger stuff. Nyjah Houston (for example) has talked about how he practiced a lot to be able to do the crazy shit he does. There's some great articles about the subject online, one in particular I remember reading on a BMX forum or something. But anyways, you can't just suddenly jump from 360's down the curb to 360's down El Toro. Nahmsayin?

yes of course, but the things I want to do I know I can do them. I just get scared even if I have done it before.

What I do, is I will roll up as many times as I need, and just picture myself hitting it. And trying to imagine myself hitting it, and then I force myself to do it. If its a handrail just think of it like, there's something chasing you and if you don't hit the rail you will die.

BUT: Only if it's something you know you can do. If you've never tried a bartwist, don't go throw it down an 8 stair.

it can be pretty hard to regain confidence once its gone but if your scared of the rail you can either work your way up to it or try and gain confidence in a differant way of going big, like with gaps or a new style of riding. also most of it is in your mindset and mindset canm be changed with music, for me if your listening to really chill music its going to make your riding more chill and more smooth if you listen to fast pace or heavy music it will make your riding more wild and fast.. im not sure what music your listening to but try shit that pumps you up becauses its all in your head.

Lately I have been doing more chill riding, but also Its the worst because I know for sure that I can do the big-ish things I have been wanting to film. Its mostly me being a coward and scared of hurting myself even though I was never really scared before.

i was like this for a bit, i was always thinking to much about tricks & how i need to progress. Get out of this mindset & just have fun, thats how you get better
