Well, yeah kind of. I don't hang out with him on the weekends, but we enjoyed filming together. But I'm mainly backing him because of A. I think he is very talented at videography, and he makes it look very smooth and appealing. And B. because I feel as though people shouldn't be hating on this video too hard based on the fact that it is very positive exposure for our sport, whether people love or hate the video. It has already become the #1 trending video on YouTube and Redbull has shared the video and acknowledged that scootering is getting big.

It's also the idea that I don't like people hating a video just because of the equipment used. I use a glidecam, I like glidecam, DSLR videos, I like park, MGP, Elyts and AO videos, but I still enjoy watching Addict and Proto videos. They aren't filmed the same way I like to see, but that's not always the only thing about the video. I think it's just kind of annoying to me that people aren't very open with what they like. They like one type of riding, filming, editing, and rider, and if all of those don't match, they don't like it. I just want people to be more open with their interests in videos.

Haha that was long.

Half cab firecracker, wallride, dub fingerwhip line..... soooooo classic.

One of the greatest clips of all time. Perfect filming, super quick and amazing tricks. Also both the tap manual bri and the whip deckgrab were absolutely ridiculous.

In my opinion this video was a pretty poor example of what scootering can be, a video made by someone who doesn't participate in/understand scootering will never create a better image for the sport than a video made by someone who does.

Props to Lil' Jon for El Toro though.

For every action sport, there's mainly two different facets. One is the family and beginner friendly view of this video and things like the x games. The other is the lifestyle of the sport, and the people who put all their effort into it. This second facet is accompanied by a thrashing/burn it to the ground mentality that is a symptom of every extreme sport. Extreme sports were born as a counterculture, and us conservatives at SR think it should stay that way. Are we right? Are they right? Who knows.

It was a really smooth video I'll give him that. But I'll say it right to Dakota's face that I don't like his riding one bit. IF you guys weren't all fucking 12 years old and just let people say what they think because after all isn't that why you posted the video? To get feedback? I guess I'm going to post a video of me riding and if someone says they don't like it I'm going to be a little bitch and complain every time someone says something negative. Get over it. You are easily 18-25 years old.

BUT ANYWAY MATT FUCKING KILLS IT, I've watched that video an asston.

See what you guys do?

i actually agree to an extent, i mean you should not hate the vid even if you dislike the riding, its impressive and skillfull and it is easy to see the skills unlike with fs/switch tricks and small things we notice as riders

The glide cam stuff is really meh, yeah it produces smooth footage but it doesn't suit scootering to me. Plus this vid is just going to gather even more scooter kids.

Well yeah, this video is clearly aimed at the population that doesn't know anything about scooters and want to see some cool flippy stuff. That's what Devin's entire channel is, the most random sick shit. That just means that in the eyes of the general public we're in the same side show as unicycling, paintballing, real life video games, and mountain boarding.

so glad jon 3'd el toro, WITH NO PADS so lame that Dakota wouldnt take off his pads for these clips. If Dakota was the only rider in this it would have the worst impact on the sport, like this kid has to put his pads on the ride his scooter but whatever im not butthurt over it seems like the majority of people already know about scootering but Jon fucking held it down with el toro man madd props and yea i watched DTS yesterday and i realized he halfcabed to firecracker.... dont even understand that line haha
and i hate how he doesnt do whip deckgarbs anymore.. forsure my all time favorite trick!

That's cuz scootering IS the same sideshow as mountain boarding. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's pretty well true. Atleast the vid showed there truly are shredders out there.
