Do you lend people your scooter?

Little bit of a bump haha. If skaters ask if they can ride my scooter I'm generally okay with it because my scooter is all-ready a piece of shit and they couldn't really make it any worse haha. I ask if I can their skateboard though. If they don't let me, I don't let them ride my scooter.

I let pretty much anybody at my local ride my scooter for a bit if I'm just sitting down not riding it. If I'm in the middle of trying to land a new trick, no. If someone else just rode it, no. The reason is, I know they aren't going to be able to mess up my scooter short of flat spotting the wheels. I remember when I just got my first Ultra Pro, the first time I let someone ride it he flat spotted the back wheel by holding the brake. Pissed me off so much I didn't let anyone ride it for a while after that. But I got over it. Most people just take it, try a 180 or a tailwhip, then give it back and say "Fuck that, I'd kill myself on this thing" and go back to skating haha.

EDIT: It all depends on how comfortable you are at that park, how many people you know there, and the area where you live. If I was riding in NYC, no way in hell would anybody be allowed to borrow my scooter except close friends.

I let people that I have let ride my scooter before, but little kids ask me to and I say nahhhh but one little kid I did cause I knew he wouldnt fuck anything up cause he hates using the brake like me! Usually something gets fucked up if someone rides it lol

I let anyone at my local park ride my scooter pretty much anytime they ask as long as I'm not filming. Everyone knows everyone at my park. And in letting people ride it, a few of them actually ended up getting their own which is awesome. So if letting people ride my scooter for 5 minutes helps to grow the sport i see no harm in it. If you have a descent scooter its going to be hard for someone to mess it up if they don't usually ride seeing as they will likely be taking it easy. I don't see the big deal in letting people ride your scooter.

Just say it like it is.

"Can I ride your scooter?"
"Nah man."
"Why not?"
"Just don't want you to."
"I wont break it or anything"
"That's nice, but you still aren't riding it."

This is how it is haha.

There's this kid that usually has a vastly different setup from mine so when he comes to the park and I'm there we trade scooters for a few seconds to feel how it's different. And at the moment we're riding everything different except for the bars which are the same dimensions. He's got an Addict deck and Eagle wheels and I've got a TSI and Protos so I like to trade just to feel what those parts are like.
