Do you

Hey everybody. Yeah so I feel like I want to quit scooters...but I know I shouldn't. I feel like this because now when I go to the skatepark I do the same tricks and lines and it's so boring. So then like after I get home from the skatepark i'll just think I had a bad riding day...but then when I go back to the skatepark about a week later and I'm still bored. So this is really gay and now scootering isn't that fun. But I also don't know if it's because nobody really comes to the skatepark anymore or scootering is dumb. Well, do you feel like this ever??? Sorry if this thread is retarded.

if you're bored, then stop for awhile. you may just need a break. go street riding, ride something different.

wait, nobody goes to woody anymore? wtf, when did that happen?

And if you think it's boring, then quit and move on, there's nothing worse than an activity you enjoy turning into a chore..

dude, in the beginning of '08, i felt like i had hit a dead end. i was still a noob kinda. i didnt have a large variety of tricks, just whips up to triples, bri's, 360's, and other little tricks like indys and stuff. i rode around a lot just thinking of stuff to try. i couldnt get fingerwhips for some reason, and i didn't work on barspins much at all. except one day in uhh i guess it was march? i was inspired by a video to start front bri's, and i went outside and tried them for like 2 hours off my like 1ft flat board-on-crate kicked, and i did the same the next day, and whadda ya know? i landed some! from then on, i started riding more tech and different lines and stuff, and scootering got more interesting.

sorry if that was boring and meant nothing, it was supposed to help because even if you're not the most talented rider ever, actually ESPECIALLY if you're not, there's always new stuff to try. i'll admit it is waaay more fun when there are people to ride with at parks, but if there's not, that means more room for you, and nobody will criticize your riding.

don't give up just because of boredom, a lot of people probably go through the same stage. i know i did, but now i'm having more fun than ever.

keep scootin.

Like everyone said, try new things, or if it comes to the worst; quit. You can try working on your style, tricks you never thought of ever doing, combos (combos are sometimes frustrating but it keeps you riding) , or build some fun set ups at home. Do some creative, or stylish tricks; they're always fun. Even watch some videos

just huck new stuff. go to a place in a park and look at it. see what tricks you could possibly try. then try them. no matter how hard they could be. this is what i do. and it helps a lot.

Seriously new stuff and terrain. Better yet, try riding different and be more original. If your a park whore, try riding like jordan jasa or jon reyes or vice versa. You just gotta be creative and ride the same old things but in different ways.

yeah dude i know what you mean. my local has 2 shitty piramids, a shitty spine, and a few rails. sometimes when it starts to get boring i just start doing oppo or switch stuff. or ill try new things on the rails. sometimes i still do the same things but try to boost/catch them high. so in other words just switch up how you ride into a way that is fun for you

STREET RIDING IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEMS!

Plus, try new tricks. For like 5 years all i did was 360s and double whips.... Not the case these days.... You will learn them if you try new tricks and have patience.

Change your style completely.
Learn how to ride like something your not and you'll start to enjoy it a little more.
I went from riding tech, and i still do occasionally, to trying bigger tricks, i find it looks, feels and generally is much better.
Pretty much saved me from quitting too, i just slowed down a lot, and whenever i'm at the park i film, so i feel like i'm riding for a reason.

Bingo. Do things you normally never would.

haha such a ridiculous thread.
if your bored with your tricks, man up and try something harder. Not necessairly throwing in another whip or learning a new flyout trick, but try to hit a beastly rail, or try to whip 12 set, or learn some switch stuff. Thats pretty much like learning how to ride all over again haha.

Straight up.
And not some bitch switch barspins, do switch whips, fingerwhips, briflips, grinds, stairsets.
Switch its so fun, just hard.

riding is always fun when you learn new things, watch vids, get creative and go ride.

there arent many people around d-bar that ride when i can, so its like that sometimes too, but im an addict so i either ride outside or edit haha.

yeah man, I've felt the same way a few times, like I was stuck, but never wanting to quit. I sucked at flowing park for awhile so I decided I would work on that and now I can boost out of quarters and stuff, it's sooo fun. when you're at your park, look at the spots you never hit and think about what you could do on them. or go ride street, possibilities are endless there. I feel stuck again now because I can't get front scooterflips and it's pissing me off but I just learned whip rewinds and some other stuff so yeah, just keep trying to progress, and it'll never get old.
