Dropout reinforements...

hmmmmmmmm, i have cut all the peices needed (thanks to dibbles tutorial) but what does it actually do??? does it stop the deck from snapping? or just make it stronger?

umm i dunno, i put square 1s on ages ago like 2-3 months and both the sides of my dropouts were cracked all the way. if i didnt put the reinforcments on it proboly would of snapped by now.

It makes the back of your scooter stronger. The deck can still crack but it will probably take longer for it to happen. When it cracks, if you have it bolted correctly, the reinforcements will keep the deck intact.

I put mine on, and I have a strong feeling that I did it incorrectly, because I didn't drill through the deck to put them on, I just drilled the holes for the bolts that came with the scooter and put them on. Should I just stick a bolt through the deck in the middle, or will it not matter too much (because I'm lazy).

ive never reinforced but i think it would be best to use the rear axle hole and the 2 smaller bolts up front preventing any weakening of the middle deck by drilling in the middle

yes, I thought that too, but it's kinda loose in the middle when you don't (when you hit it with your hand (ie. when doing fingerwhips, etc.) you can hear a metal on metal sound). Don't know if it really makes that much of a difference though...

i drilled holes if you can see, really good and most is strong, it will hold those reinforcements really tightened up.
i kill my drop outs really fast but with those reinforements i havent see a crack at end long time but i cant say same about front-bottom, its cracking tehre pretty much.. but i had those cracks bfore i put reinforcements on..

All you did was add weight to the back of your scooter haha. Yeah put a bolt a little farther up on the deck from the back.
