Drums

I started playing drums about 4 years ago, I'll try and get a picture of my drums later, they're nothing impressive though, the only cymbals worth mentioning are my zildjian zxt 14" rock crash and my white paiste alpha 20" metal ride, I use evans genera g2 heads on the toms, a evans HD dry snare head and a evans emad2 for the bass drum head, I use a random cheap double bass pedal that I modified to be direct drive, I'll get a decent pedal eventually

You can choose your budget. They have a huge selection, as well.

I've never heard of that website, and when I look around I was amazed with the prices. I'll probably be buying from there and not Sam Ash next time I need to buy something

I play drums. Have been playing without lessons (taught myself how to play) for about 5 years now?

Yeah I know sheet music because my teacher taught me and I had to learn it for a percussion class in school. I don't use it that much at all though. I just play! haha

I was naturally ok at the drums, I took lessons but then quit quite soon because the instructor scared me ahah I was like 9, and just started getting the hang of sheet music. My dad's got this ghetto kit from the 70's.

My brother was the only one to take lessons in my family, and he hated them completely. I'm lucky though, my Dad played drums for years before I was born, my brother teaches me drum stuff and my cousin plays drums in a band

I took lessons once a week for 2 school years when I first started playing but I missed most of my lessons because I didn't think the teacher was teaching me anything I didn't know, eventually the school stopped giving me lessons so I taught myself from then on, I had kit that somebody threw out with a broken snare and no crash or ride and I had to borrow a bass pedal for almost 2 years before I bought some cheap double pedal and the kit I have now from my friend and got new cymbals and heads for it :)

also what sticks do you use? I always get 5B and usually buy vic firth or vic firth nova but I also have some ahead sticks and now I recently got some pro mark oak sticks just to try them out.

I use 5A Novas or I use an old pair of Travis Barker Zildjian sticks.
