Knife Party is half-composed of Rob Swire, which you probably know as the guy who sings in deadmau5's "Ghosts n Stuff," he's also the lead for Pendulum.
Yes I am aware of this, I've seen KP live lol, and I have bought every song they have ever released.
What genre is skrillex then?
The reason I like Skrillex is because he is so honest about his music. He makes songs that sounds good to him and that he connects with. He does not categorise his music, and he hates it when other people categorise his.

That said, he makes a wide range of EDM, some songs are "Dubstep" although they are more of a hybrid between Dubstep and Electro House. The only thing about some of his songs that make them even remotely close to dubstep, is the BPM of 140. Apart from that none of his songs show any resemblance to dubstep, so people should stop putting him in that category. He also makes moombahton and electro house.

The only song he has done that you can really call dubstep in my eyes is Summit (ft. Ellie Goulding) because it has a simple melody with a traditional dubstep wobble, overlayed with Ellie's vocals.
