If the top of the brake is giving your trouble, you could probably take the brake off and file the brake slot further, so the brake will sit higher.

By the way, before you buy a fork or anything, you should bolt your folding mechanism.

for the back brake problem, just take the brake off and file the slot, but do it a lil bit at a time so you dont over do it and have a brake that awkwardly high up. its very easy to over file it.
