Ok, So compare the filming and editing to the Proto Catalyst DVD.

Now explain how it's so bad.

Happily, Catalyst had a unique editing style with an interesting motif (the hand-drawn text and images). This helped to create the feel of a coherent video. Stylites however had absolutely no coherent editing style and was frankly overedited, it was just a bunch of web videos strung together and about a hundred angle changes in each part. The filming in Catalyst set the bar in the sport when it comes to filming street and the use of standard definition cameras. The filming in Stylites was just atrocious straight up, no explanation needed. The song choice in Catalyst reflected and enhanced the feel and style of each rider's part, it was clear that much thought had been put into these choices. In Stylites, I'm pretty sure it was almost all hella-tight gangsta rap and maybe a bit if dubstep. Worst of all was the song on Tyler Bonner's part, possibly the worst song steal in the sport so far. Overall the Stylites DVD sucked so much balls in comparison to Catalyst.

I actually didn't think this video was that bad. It would have been much better though if it wasn't over-edited, and if they didn't use dubstep or stupid rap. IMO this video had potential to be as good as catalyst. The first time I watched catalyst, I found it extremely boring.

Any video with decent footage has the potential to be catalyst. But that's not the point. The point is that it's not catalyst. Catalyst may not have the best riding, it's old and outdated (DK's infamous indian giver), but the editing, the filler footage, the song choice, everything that made Catalyst so great is what this video was lacking.
