Extra long HIC shim for MGP?

Im building a new setup and and am going threadless, with an MGP deck, Lucky forks and Lucky Oversize bars. I want to use HIC, so could I make an extra long shim from a piece of aluminum tube. I could also use ICS and standard bars, but I know HIC smashes ICS.

perhaps you could email lucky/tsi and they'd sell you an extra long shim?

or buy a piece of 1-1/4ths inch tubing off onlinemetals and cut a slit down it

you could just cut the fork.. its stronger if you cut it as the bars wont have as much leverage to break/bend the forktube.

Make your fork weaker, yes, but your bars will be stronger because there is less stress on the slit, so your bars will not crack.

^^^ I did this for my Nitro. TSI will hook you up right. Just tell them exactly how long of a shim you need (measure it and find out how long it needs to be) and they'll cut you a custom shim.

And BTW the fork being longer doesn't make it more prone to bending, the bars are still anchored to it in the same place.
