who else here likes experimenting with/using different kinds of lens filters for shooting video? i got some cheepish ones from b&h a while back and have also have made a few out of various materials. they are a simple way to do some nice effects and correction stuff. i dont really see many people using them though, and i thought i would ask.so yeah, discuss lens filters here.

and dont just say stupid shit like "filters are retarded, just do it on the computer when you edit". gtfo. unless you know what your doing and want to have a legit discussion about it.

p.s. im talking about video filters, not filters for still photography. i haven't really had much experience shooting stills with filters.

i dont like using my uv filter. it makes everything kinda foggy. ill probably just smash out the glass and use it as a spacer for my fish.

i was reading on sp that just to keep your shutter speed twice the frame rate. So if your using a 60I framerate (30p) use a 1/60th shutterspeed for the smoothest movement. John have you been noticing that your footage is really Choppy?

you understand that concept wrong first of all, 30p with that "rule" would still use 120, but its not choppy scooting is pretty fast motion, higher shutter less motion blur more crispness

ps 30p isnt 60i

yeah true. i shoot at 1/60th-1/120 and 60I is 60 half frames per second, or 30 full frames a second. thats what i was trying to say. not 30p. lol
