Fingerwhips flat.

Hi, I've been trying fingerwhips flat reasontly but i can't get past the fingerwhipping part. What happens is, i jump as high as i can, then i bring the scooter up by rotating my wrist backwards, but as soon as a push the deck into a whip my feet land before i can finish the whip or even try and land on the scooter. Any ideas??

Just keep practicing over and over until you have the motion down faster. Like any trick, the more you do it, the quicker you learn to do it, and the more chance you have of landing it on flat.

I suggest getting fingerwhips into banks on lock which will help you heaps. I'm learning them flat as well and this has helped me heaps.

i get fingerwhips flat now and then, ive landed about 4 but there still fairly hard for me to land.
try doing them off small drops, like into banks.

Yeah, i would try them off a kicker or something but literary all i have is a street with curbs and a driveway (that has no run up to jump down). =/

Thanks for the replys.

Exactly what i did. I started doing them into any bank I rode and then just got them flat one day.
The one thing that helped me with fingerwhips in general was to try and reach down as far as you can. Its a lot easier than trying to pull the scooter up to your stomach like most kids try to.

How do banks help? Just a bigger drop? Cause I have a couple of walls around me, and I'm off to the Works skatepark on Monday, so where would be best for me to learn?

I was told that i should pull up as much as possible and to not reach down at all??

yeah pulling up as much as possible doesnt seem like the best idea cus it'll make it harder to land. just do as scott says

Okay, i tryed reaching down, but that didn't seem to work as well as pulling up because it made me land even earlyer...

When you pull the scooter so far up, you also have to push it back down; When you keep the scooter where it is and just reach down, the scooters already where it needs to be, all you have to do is get your hand back on the bars afterwards.
Its weird to get used to but makes it so much easier.

the other thing and scott touched on it but besides his first suggestion also; get your hand back on the bar as SOON as you can after hitting the deck for the whip. the sooner you get your hand back the better and faster the rotation will be because you have two hands whipping the deck around.. otherwise its as hard as doing a one handed whip

practice practice practice

For me right now, they're not that hard, I find that when I say to myself "I doubt I'll land it", I don't land it, but when I say "I can land this, and commit, I actually do land it, or get really really close. Its kind of just doing it out of a bank, then working your way to smaller things, and committing
