You are not pro unless you WIN pro contests from my point of view. There are exceptions though...

what if you don't like and don't enter contests but you're clearly better than the winners of contests?

Jarred reid was deffinantly NOT the first, but he was one of the first guys to be sponsored by razor. Whatever happened to him anyway.

he was at the x games last year
pro means proffesional
making a living off what your doing
no one so far has made a living off scooters
but then again there is the definition of pro meaning really really good
there are a lot of really really good scooter riders

Yup. Pretty much everyone considered pro right now rides in comps, i can't think of anyone off the top of my head that stands out in the sport and hasn't competed.

It's ridiculous to say that you have to win comps to be pro. There are pro skaters everywhere that have never entered comps. Competitions are mostly set up for park riders who only practice competition tricks like backflips and scooterflips. It's no impossible for a street rider to win (Mckeen for example) but how you do in competitons has nothing to do with how good you are. Most riders are somewhat limited to how well designed the park is unless it's a rider's local park and they've had time to get used to everything. You don't have to make a living off of what you're doing to be considered pro either. Where do you guys think of this stuff

Yeah i get what your saying. Having won comps to back up your 'pro' status seems way more legit though.
