flexfender problem

i have made the flex fender out of mild steel and it is fine except for the fact that when i shape it it bends down a little closer to the wheel than i would like for manuals, is there anyway to fix this as in to keep a few more mm between the wheel and the brake

No, you need to buy one, DIY flexy's snap and dont bend good.

Mild steel will not work since it has no "Spring" property to the steel.

When you step on it it will just stay where you bent it down to- it will not spring back.

I think i will just leave it and get used to it, it has a few mm "spring" im just used to more room between the brake and wheel
