Fork Reinforcing...

I am always snapping forks even reinforced with t-tube so i've finally decided to fix them properly and i want opinions on whether this is a good idea or if anyone has done it before. My plan is to weld a long t tube inside an old snapped fork that comes out the top and sticks out about 2 or 3 inches, then i will cut the wider part of the stock bars off so that it is roughly the same size as the t-tube. Next i make/buy a clamp that fits the new bottom part of the bars(that fits over the t-tube which is in the forks), this will hold the bars onto the forks. The idea is that the more length of the nex extended forks should take pressure off the thread and make them more resistant to break!

I have Drawn a quick sketch of the idea:

thats a bad idea. there will be to much force being put on the t-tube inside the fork, and it'll break.

The t-tube is not aluminium it's steel, as proven by welding it to forks today! Works like a charm, is just painting atm!

well i got 2 perfectly straight broken fork at home, so i may give this a try, can u pleae post up pics when you get it back from the painters?

I'm using the inner nar tube (pretty sure it's called the t-tube) and it's definately steel! So are Pro Model ones!
