French Id CNC Fork on MGP

Hi, there is quite abit of confusion with the whole headtube thing on the MGP's.
I was looking at buying an MGP, but i wanted to fit a FID cnc fork to it with an FSA the pig headset and just a standard fid ics.

I was just wondering, becuase of the whole headtube problem, what would i have to do to fit it? would i just do it as normal? cut it down?

-Thanks

If you want to use the bars that you already have, you will need at least 1" of spacers so you can maintain your current bar height. You may also have to hammer your starnut in deeper, depending on whether you use the spacers or not. Other than that, You don't need to worry about cutting any of the parts.

Oh my bad, I thought That was another thread. I think it would be easier to use the spacers. Some bike shops are usually pretty cool and will just give you the spacers if they have them just lying around. If not, they are pretty sheap. If you do it this way you will only need to hammer the starnut into the bars about 2 inches.

The idea spacers would work but cutting it down would just make it...normal?

If i cut the fork down to the size as the stock mgp fork it would be fine..right?

DO NOT cut the forks, avoid it at all cost. if you are using ics, put the starnuts in deeper but it will make your bars lower. if you want your bars the same height use headset spacers or cut some old bars down so it makes a full inch (1)

^ well, I don't know much in this department, but wouldn't a shorter forktube be stronger? Not to short but shorter? The forks would be harder to snap yeah? But then I guess the bars would bend/snap
