FSA Pig Headsets.

I'm just about to invest in a new headset, seeing as the races inside my stock headset have snapped, and as i have seen many people using FSA Pigs, i've decided to get one. problem is, i have absolutely no idea:

-what size headset i need,
-weather i need to do any modifacations,
-and how to install them (although bike shop will probably do it for me).

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get an unsealed fsa pig in "1 1/8" size and take out your old cups & put in the new ones, or get a shop to do it..

nah get a FSA sealed trust me unsealed is gay the bearing pop out of the ring
and if u dont lube it doesnt spin for shit

Get a sealed or unsealed. You choose. I know some people who have said sealed suck ballzzz...

I ride unsealed. Theres some price difference with sealed and unsealed.

Unsealed is easier to clean I think. Its very easy to fix it up but if you go to the bike shop , you don't have to think about anything.

If you are going to fix it up by yourself , hammer out the old cups and hammer in the new FSA cups. The rest , just look at the instruction manual which will come with your headset.

you should lube any bearings no matter if its sealed or not.

lmao^...

anyways, id say unsealed, a ton of people ride them and ive never heard of the bearings coming out of the cage or whatever, plus they are a lot less expensive.

its all preferance you guys. and if you know what you are doing you can make a sealed headset spin just dandy. sealed headsets require ALOT less maintenace but because of the bearing they have slighty more drag so they spin slower. but they ARE definetly smoother. A good way to make a sealed spin better is by adding some heavy barends or somthing cause the added momentum will make it spin just as fast as an unsealed. when unseald headsets wear out the bearings WILL fall apart.

well if you think about it, theyre made for bikes so they dont need to spin as fast. since bikes do have more momentum it will spin fast either way.

man seriously one of those fsa orbit pros, especially with the stainless deep cups will last longer than your life haha i have one but i got it for like 15$ id never pay over 60 on a headset.

Lol , its stupid for people to buy Chris King headsets for their scooters. If it is a mountain scooter or whatever which does not do tricks , maybe but if you are doing tricks , nope. =)

i had a bearing cage explode on me once. i was trying to see how many whips i could do and in mid air it just broke. it was placed
correctly to so i dk if it was just old or what but it was a shock to me when i landed.

Maybe you should get a "Solid Bikes" Headset. They are half the price of a Chris King and they are Perfection. Smooth, fast, Lifetime warranty and they have a grubscrew in the top cup compression spacer (go look it up on dans comp I you want to see what im talking about), so when you tighten it to the tightness you like. it will stay for as long as you want.
