step 1. put forks in a vice
step 2. put your locknut on and TRY as hard as you can to try and rethread it by using
a vice grip and just twisting it on.
step 3. see if it works

Cut of the top three threads, then file the fork straight at the top and you should be good to go.

My advice go to Ace Hardware store and buy a thread file. they are small with a sharp edge made for filing threads. they cost about $8

This is why we put a block of wood on top of things that we're hammering. Try just jamming a locknut on there. I've had the same problem before so I basically rethreaded it with the locknut and a torque wrench.

yeah im getting my 30 pound vice out of storage today and im usin my channel locks to try and get a locknut on there lol
