fuck....

ok, so i have threaded slamm forks on my district v2 deck and my district threadless headset (dont ask why) and the bit the goes on the bottom of my fork, is wonky and is not on properly, so i have tried taking my headset off to correct this, but i have a problem, the pinch ring is stopping the forks from coming off the deck and i cannot get my forks out, i have tried hammering it, no use and i have tried getting out the pinch ring many, many times, and i have had no luck, has anybody had this problem before, if so how did they fix it,and if anybody knows anywhere that i can send my deck and forks to get fixed in the uk, could they please tell me.

just take a flat head screwdriver and the gap in the ring, put it there and push like your screwing off the ring, then it should come up an but then take the screwdriver and turn it inbetween the gap to make it spread apart then pull off the ring, easy hahaa i did this brfore like 3 times but dontuse the pinch ring with threaded just use the screw on nuts that came wiht the forks

Take a hammer, and give the top of your fork one MASSIVE hit so that it slides out like an inch. Then take a screwdriver or the hammer and pry or beat the bearing ring thing off of the compression ring then just shimmy your pinch ring off and you're good.

I've had this problem a hundred times all it takes is one good hit. You're always all sketched out cause you don't wanna do damage, but forget about that for a second and go all out with the hammer and you should be able to knock it down a little.

I had a very similar problem with my threadless headset on MGP threaded forks where the rubber O ring on the top cap decided it no longer wanted to be in its spot and get wedged against the threads. So, my Dad who used to be a panel beater (He build sprint cars at the same time) has a ton of tools, I just used his gear puller with a coin on top of the fork to force it off. Not sure about the pinch ring though, sounds pretty stuck.
