ive seen a better design before. the top was a solid sheet of uncut plywood. the frame was made entirely of 2 by 4's. using this design you can get a bigger size, and still maintain a low cost.

2 foot tall is good for a grind box. It will be difficult to combo anything with manuals because its higher than a manual pad which would be 1-1.5 ft high.

yeah, me and my blader friends made one and we made it like 2 ft tall. It's fucking hard to nose manual. but it's the best grind ledge everr.

grind ledge=1.5-2 ft
manual pad/grind ledge=.5-1 ft
manual pad=a couple inches

I have a foot high grind box and I wish it was taller haha. But then I couldn't really learn tricks into grinds whenever I get around to that... so I'd say about a foot tall is good.

Grab two shipping crates, you can nick them from industrial places. Glue and screw one on top of the other and nail some plywood to the top. Get some 20x20x3 angle iron from the steel works (it's like 5 bucks) and glue and screw it to the longest edge(make sure to counter sink).

10 minutes and 10 dollars later you have a grind box.
