Headset top cup won't come off!

So, being the stupid shithead that I am, I've been running an FSA Pig on my threaded SR fork. Anyway, my stupid mom moved my scooter outside while it was raining and I was on a trip, so it was basically outside for a week of rain. So I come back and everything seems fine, my bars are still too slow but I've had that problem for awhile. So I decided today to clean out my headset. I clamp off the bars, spin off the top nut thing, and the little compression ring inside the top cup won't move at all. Normally I can just pry in the aluminum ring's notch with a screwdriver, but today it wouldn't move. It bent my tiny screwdrivers instead. I wasn't happy, so I went to my dad. He said that it was probably "fused in" by the rust or something, and that I should spray some WD-40 on it and let it sit for awhile then come back. I came back and I still can't get the top cup off of my fork/head tube. Since I don't want to lose my SR Fork, head tube, and FSA Pig, is there anything else I can do?

Hit the top of the steerer tube on the ground (when the bars are off obviously) and it loosens everything up so then the compresion wring will come off.

Yeah the compression ring is crammed in there, tap the threaded side on the ground or with a rubber mallet and it should loosen up.

mine compression ring actuall got threaded so it woulndt slide on and off easy, so try screwing it off it u can get to it

I feel really stupid, that did the trick (the tapping thing). Thanks! I don't need the thread if mods wanna lock it or something.

I own SR.
Before I even opened this thread I predicted it was a threadless top cup on a threaded fork... bad idea for anyone reading this.

The only way to get it off is to push the top cap back down to free the wedge ring if that doesn't work you are gonna have to try and hammer the fork out as much as you can and cut the forks and probably buy a new wedge ring and maybe a new top cap.
