Heat treated my Stem!!

I was talking to a Mechanic/Welder they outher day and i was talking about making part's of my scooter stronger..and he ask have I ever tried arisol Can Heat Treating...I replied no,he told me how to do it, it was very very simple and he said the resulst were around making the steel or aluminum about 45-60% stronger..

So i tried and it all went good, so far i have only dont my stem, but soon will be doing it to all TMS Bars..

So hear are some piks i took during this progress..im pretty sure it would do something, IT GOT SO FUCKING HOTT... it look like i just had TIG welded it..

Jdbugs/Jdrazors are creamy which I heard is because of being heat treated, unlike the american Razors.
The frost was from sand blasting, not heat treating.

P.S. - Just because you light a tube on fire doesn't make it stronger... if anything you will weaken it. Professional heat treating is done in like a giant oven where the parts are brought up to temperature gradually and then back down so as not to stress them. They probably have to spend a certain ammount of time at the high temperature to allow the molocules to reposition and bond tighter which is the whole point of heat treating. If you go too hot you will probably ruin the parts and if you don't go hot enough you won't be doing anything.

True, my Grandfather was a welder, but he isn't alive anymore :(( , but he did teach me some pretty cool stuff with fire.

I'm pretty sure they were just lightly sandblasted to give them that frosted look... not powder coated or heat treated. Even if they were at one time I don't think they do any of that any more though because the costs ad up when they could just be selling the cheap crap they do now.

Hahah shhh!!

The Stem was kept at a constant heat for about 30mins..
I asked the Mechanic and he said that the material had been aulterd than last time he saw it!

wow i think he hoped u going to have a accident and blow up the whole place.looked like u wanted to burn all the boxes and everything.
