Help: Modifiying/Upgrading a Razor Standard

Hey Guys, I desperately need your help!

In late February i started scooting and bought myself a Razor Black Label Ultra Pro Lo, despite the fact that i am 18 and 176 cm (69 inches) tall.
Now, somewhat 3 1/2 months in, i feel like the size of the scooter really hinders my progress in this sport. (The bar is like 7-10 cm beneath my hip, and i once read it should be on hip height)

I am planning on scooting a lot in the summertime, so I would like to upgrade my standard scooter a little bit to better fit my size.

Another criterion would be the weight of the scooter, i once rode a lighter model and i kinda liked it, so the new scooter should atleast not have more than the razor one (which should be like 8 pounds?)

Also i would like to reuse as much as possible, to save some costs...

What do I want from you?

  • Starting Model: Razor Black Label Ultra Pro Lo
  • Searching for: New Parts to increase size
  • Searching for: Light Parts
  • Reuse as much as possible
  • If nothing is reuseable from this piece of Black: Setup suggestions please (Light, Fitting)

My Data:

  • Height: 176 cm (69.2 inches)
  • Weight: 63kg (138.8 pounds)

My Own Thoughts
From what i've gathered district bars and an addict deck would be the lightest and best parts. But i am not sure if the headtube etc. of a lo scooter fits.

TL;DR
Need Light Scooter for 176cm, 63kg : Have Razor Black Label Lo

Thanks to everyone who is willing to help me out!

what tricks can you do? i would suggest getting new and higher bars for your height issue. http://www.vertxscooters.com/grips/54-oversized-t-bar.html
these are very nice bars and are cheap.Make sure to order them with a slit

the next thing u would need is new forks i would suggest these
http://www.vertxscooters.com/forks/5-vertx-smx-v2-threadless-fork.html

you will then need a compression system
http://www.vertxscooters.com/compression/40-hic-compression-system.html

any threadless headset will do
http://www.vertxscooters.com/headsets/18-threadless-scooter-headset.html

the total would be around 170 dollars

your bars should be below your waste if they are too tall the will hit your thighs when you jump high

District V3 bars (Large) -£60
Proto Full Size SCS - £65
Vertx SMX/Tilt/District V3 Fk-2 Forks (District being the lightest I think) - £65/£90/£60
Proto Sliders/Grippers (Sliders - hard+fast (good for street) Grippers - fast+grippy (good for park) - £80
FSA MX Orbit - £50
Addict Grips/ODI Grips - £10
Blunt Abec 9 bearing set - £15
Black Label Deck

£345/370/340

With any of those choices you will have a scooter that'll stay a very similar weight to your Rup but will just be bigger. The SCS will raise your bars and by ordering the large district bars (some of the lightest on the market) you will be able to get them down if you decide to.

Hope I helped.

Not to be cocky but I think I can help him the most...
I am basically the same size/weight as you and I have had my experiences with good and bad scooter parts. First off, do not get District bars or forks. I had both District bars and forks and honestly, they both sucked. The bars flexed and were actually scary to ride. They always felt like they were going to break, I never felt secure my scooter riding. District forks were also a bad experience. They separated at the bottom and also bent. In my opinion they were also really ugly. If I were you i would get this:
Bars: Really any T-Bar like Proto, Vertx or Inward.
forks: Based on lightness and strength I would get Vertx or tilt. Only get the Tilt if you are going to use Baby SCS. Get the Vertx for basically every other compression except Baby SCS.
Compression: HIC or SCS. Stay far away from threaded and ICS.
Headset: FSA Pig Unsealed (DH Pro if you have the money)
Wheels: (Only if you need them) Any Vertx wheels.
Hope it helped!

i dont think anyone has said anything about a new deck. i would try to get a new deck first if i were you. rups are pretty strong but they are super short. im 2inches shorter than you and i cant stand the length of a rup. a bigger deck will probably make you feel way more comfortable.

I got myself banned.
DONT reuse your old razor headset... definitely get a nicer one that wont loosen up and this will help you alot on all your tricks. The most important part on my scooter is by far the headset! FSA pig is what i use, its cheap and works well with a threaded fork and a locknut

Thank you guys for helping me out!

I have looked into your suggestions and looked around for these parts.

Living in austria, the only shop i considered for now was "http://www.scooter-kickboard.de", which has some of your suggested parts, but not all of them!

Bar
They don't have any proto/vertx bars, but the district ones, considering Connor Hedden's reply these aren't the best one for me.

Here is the list of available bars:
  • madd gear
  • APEX
  • Blunt
  • Epic
  • Zero Gravity
  • Grit
  • Sacrifce
  • RAD
  • Phoenix
  • Addict
  • Crisp
  • District
  • TWAN
  • frenchID
  • JD Bug
But if you know any other shop in europe with fairly low shipping, i might buy the bars extra.

Fork
VertX SMX fork V2 for 75€, quite a big price, it's 52 €from the VertX site...

Headset
FSA Orbit MX or FSA Headset PIG DH pro for 40€

Clamp
LG Pro Scooter SCS for 40€

Without the bar: 155€ (193$)
The scs seems to push the price a bit, but i heard that with hic the bars snap easier...

I also feel like this shop isn't the best one to go, seems a little bit expensive now and then, so if you know a better one (in europe) I would be happy to order there. (Maybe UK has a good one, which ships?)

EDIT:
I just checked the shipping costs at VertX, 158$, no luck there, gonna keep on searchin'...
Found: DoggScooters.com, seems to be from UK, doesn't have VertX

Also, if you will be putting your scooter together, invest in some good quality tools - I got some yesterday and serviced my scooter and it has never felt better.
