hey guys im new to scooter resource (and scootering) and i am loving the site... its even better now that the store is open.. i got a scooter just for the heck of it about a month ago (a2) and broke it already...so i bought a pro..then i found this site and reinforced the fork, going to reinforce the deck and dropouts, bolted my t-tube to my handlebars getting rid of the junction, locked my folding mech, and other misc cool things i found on here.. i was just wondering what i am doing wrong with my tailwhips. i can easily get them around and when i jump off boxes or 2 stairs i can get dobles around but i cant seem to stay above the scooter and if i do stay above it i can never land them anyway...i dont know what i am doing wrong and i was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers/tips or critisize me on what im doing wrong...im sorry if this is a dumb post but i searched the otehr tailwhip threads and couldnt find any thing that would help me other than practice...

oh and about reinforcing the deck/dropouts i am going to put them on the inside like matts video and i need to know what size square tubing would work the best..

thanks!

It sounds like you have the same problem as me. The scooter wants to go into like superman or you land to the right or left of the deck. I'm thinking it's just commitment that you need to get. And like Jordan said, practice is the only way to get over that.

Watch the video again, but when he puts the reinforcements near the screen to show you the measurements, pause the video and write them down. Thats what I did.

I kinda throw it out to just get the potation going. Then I concentrate too much on keeping it rotating that I forget to catch it.

Its a tailwhip..you dont need to throw it out to get any rotation going....a simple kick will get it going.. Josh and and Jack.. Both of you just need to man up, and land the trick. Im tired of seeing threads where people say they are landing right next to the deck, but not landing the trick. Then they make an entire thread about it.

When your doing a single tailwhip, your doing a very few simple things. You can use a kicker, a curb, a ledge, a small stair set, a ramp, or flatground to learn tailwhips. Whatever is easy for you. From there your going to jump and kick the dexk around in whatever way that works for you. Some people use both feet to kick it around, some use only there front foot, and some only there back foot. It does not matter, what matters is that you get your feet BACK TOGETHER to land on the deck. Dont kick out your leg get the deck around and leave that leg hanging all over the place, you will land with one foot on the deck, and one foot on the ground. SO BRING YOUR FEET BACK TOGETHER. And do not, extend your arms anywhere at any time during your tailwhip. It will only make your deck fly out further, Keep your arms in the same place throughout the whole tailwhip. From there...sad to say for all you new kids, that jes want to learn every trick without problem... YOU NEED TO PRACTICE...not make threads on SR about how close you are but landing the tric....YOU PRACTICE.

keep the deck under you, pull your knees up high and pull up your bars a little. watch videos in slow motion. practice, it my literally take 100 tries, but once you land it, u got it forever

and i think ur supposed to post this somewhere else.

jump, then kick the scooter around with your feet. use your wrists to help the deck get the rotation faster. try to keep your feet close together so you land with both feet on . Finally, you just need to PRACTICE.

Practice like everyone else said but also watch the deck spin round so you know when to catch it.
Also dont get worked up about it, I did but when I got it i was messing around with my friends and I was laid back.

I got myself banned.
Keep your feet together and just go out everyday practicing and don't give up.

Keep the mindset of you landing it.
