^Wth? You're supposed to have a slit all the way through your shim, so I can tighten on your forks. His shim barely is longer than his forks.

I'd cut the slit the rest of the way with a table saw or just a hand saw. It has to be able to compress onto your forks, and having no slit won't allow that.

Ive riddin hic for about 4 years. Same shim type. All he has to do is turn it around. This way when you tighten your top cap the shims won't stretch out. And then the slit will tighten to the fork where the clamp goes.

It's wide enough, it just needs to be cut through, because the part without the slit is still on the forks.

cut the shim the whole way through and make sure the slit on the bars is bigger than the clamp, it is the problem 95% of the time with any scooter not staying straight. always why you should have forks and shim longer than your slit and clamp by at least 3 cm, that will be enough to prevent any more tom k incidents.
if your clamp is almost the same as or the bar slit is bigger than the shim, you bars will break like his did if you go big. if it is too small get a smaller clamp and bars with a smaller slit, single clamps look sick ,are far lighter and work very well.

instead of the spacer I would've personally tapped the starnut a bit deeper down into the forks and cut like 1/2 of a cm off of it, or maybe even 3/4ths of a cm, then cut through the shim

Tapping the starnut a little crooked helps keep the bolt a bit tighter in my experience..

I got myself banned.
turn it around obviously. if that dont work cut the slit all the way through. and if that dont work get a real hic shim
