HIC problem

Okay so i got my new lucky hic bars and everythiong worked until my district deck broke. I took my bars off and the bolt and cap but the shim can't get off my fork.

Any ideas?

what headset are you running?

flathead screwdriver.
put it sideways into the slit in the shim and turn it so it opens up
will this not work?

probably barely.
Get a vice grip

Grip the top of the shim and PULL.

Twisting may also help. Tell me if it works.
I used needle nose vicegrips and it worked for me
